BDL4052E Clone In Process for Vivi


Warning
If Doing Re-Cloning On Site (Not applicable for Cloning In in the warehouse)
When re-clone is performed, Vivi instance needs to be re-activated by Vivi Orders/Sales.
This can only be done by someone in Vivi initiated by the school during office hours 9-5pm Mon-Fri.
Please do the re-loading b/w 10-4pm during school days to ensure that Vivi instance can be re-activated in time.

Clone taken from a BDL4052E is FW Specific
The origin BDL4052E FW version and the destination BDL4052E FW version need to match otherwise clone in will be unsuccessful
If the screen is brand new out of the box, the SW version should be written on the side of the box (FB__.__)
If the screen has already been configured, press info,7,7 to see the FW version (FB__.__)

Overview

BDL4052E cloning FB02.08T is a 4 step process:
1. NVM Reset (NVM.BIN) - to reorganize the BDL4052E Memory to suit FB02.08T FW (about 2 mins)
2. Forced update SW (upgrade_loader.pkg) - to update the BDL4052E SW (about 12 mins)
3. Clone in BDL4052E FB02.08T Vivi 3.7.4 Clone file (about 5 min)
Each steps above require 1 USB Drive, so 3 USB Drives are required
4. Setting Time Zone (clone default is Sydney/Melbourne)

NVM Reset (NVM.BIN)

NVM (Non Volatile Memory) Reset Procedure overwrite the NVM memory area with a model specific NVM image that is usually loaded during the Screen's assembly process.
The NVM image used is dictated by the LCD component (the front part of the Screen that lit up and produces picture) used in the Screen.
That's why different Philips BDL model WILL require different NVM files
Even 2 BDL of the same model, with different serial number range may use different LCD types, and thus require different NVM files

Format the USB Drive with the following settings:

  File system=FAT32
  Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte

Download NVM.BIN file (Model dependent) into USB Drive.

Choose the correct NVM.BIN file based on the Model

Download and put files into the root directory of the USB Drive.

AlertCheck that the filename are precisely the following names:
NVM.BIN not NVM(1).bin or nvm.bin, etc

Performing NVM Reset

Insert the USB Drive to the USB port on the side of the screen


Power off the screen from the power plug (not using the remote)

Power on the screen from the power plug.

Software update will begin automatically


Wait about 15 minutes for the forced update process to finish.

Once it finish, you'll be shown the usual start up screen again..
if this is a new screen, you'll see the Welcome screen.


Forced update SW (upgrade_loader.pkg)

Format the USB Drive with the following settings:

  File system=FAT32
  Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte

Download the latest upgrade_loader.pkg (platform dependent) into USB Drive.


the latest version is FB02.08T


Download and put files into the root directory of the USB Drive.

Perform Forced FW Update

Insert the USB Drive to the USB port on the side of the screen


Power off the screen from the power plug (not using the remote)

Power on the screen from the power plug.

Software update will begin automatically


Wait about 15 minutes for the forced update process to finish.

Once it finish, you'll be shown the Welcome screen.


Clone in BDL4052E FB02.09T Vivi 3.7.4 Clone file

Format the USB Drive with the following settings:

  File system=FAT32
  Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte

Download the FB02.09T Vivi 3.7.4 Clone files into USB Drive.


Download all the files in this link


Unzip the downloaded files and copy all the files and folders into the root directory of a USB Drive formatted with FAT32



Copy all directories files into the root directory of the USB Drive.

Perform Clone In


Insert the USB Drive to the USB port on the side of the screen


Ensure screen has been turned on and you should see the welcome screen below


Select "English" and then click "Start"


Select "Clone media files from USB Storage" and then click "Next"


Select "Import Signage Display Settings from USB" and then click "Next"


Click "Finish"


Wait for about 5 mins. 

When cloning completed, screen will boot up to Vivi



Set The Screen to the correct time zone


Press Home button on the remote to bring the Settings Menu
Navigate to "Advanced"->"Date and Time"





Turning off aging mode


Due to NVM Reset Procedure, the Screen will be on Aging Mode

To turn it off, please follow the following steps:
1. Set the source to HDMI
2. Go into Factory Menu by pressing Home,1,9,9,9,back on the remote
3. Navigate to the Burn-In Mode setting called Aging mode, and set it to off, and the colour cycling will disappear
