Procedures
1. Install Tool’s driver:
Unzip DriverAssistant_v4.1.1.zip
Run DriverInstall.exe file
3. Unzip FactoryTool Software and Run it
4. Click the button circled below, and the 2nd option to change the language to English.
5. Set Home->Advanced Option->Power Save = Mode4 (remember the original setting)
5a - If the screen is not working properly (stuck in Android recovery mode or rebooting continuously), do the following:
Press Home 1777 to bring the Factory OSD Menu
then go to Service->Android Recovery -> Force Recovery
6. Connect the PC, using a USB-microUSB cable to the microUSB interface on the Screen, you’ll see the one of the Port on the FactoryTool turning blue. (see right most picture) [If you can’t see this happening, check your cable or reinstall the driver]
7. Press the Firmware button (see picture on the right), choose the update.img file downloaded in Step 1. Press OK to select it.
8. Click Run to begin. When it finishes successfully, the symbol on the top right will turn green
8a. DO Step 8A only if you encounter error message after running the SW update on Factory Tool. (otherwise skip step 8A)
If the Update Messages on the Factory Tool shows error while Waiting for Loader to start, then perform the following procedure to kick start the upgrade process:
Press Home 1999 back to go to the factory menu
Select Force Recovery -> OK
Screen will turn off and SW update the FactoryTool should show that upgrade is progressing
9. When you see “Upgrade Ok” disconnect the USB cable between the PC and the screen.
10. Screen will reboot and you’ll be presented with the initiation wizard screen again.
11. Check that you can navigate the initiation wizard.
12. Check that you can go to Android Menu (Home 1888) – you need to complete the initiation wizard first.
13. Set Home->Advanced Option->Power Save = to the original setting
