3. If
you can’t get into android menu, there’s a good chance that the android board
is where the fault lies.
Steps:
1. Move Android board (smaller board located on the main board – be careful with the clip that hold it to the mainboard) to new main board (unless Tech Team specifically ask for android board to be replaced as well, then see Android Board Replacement Guide)
2. Install new Main board
3. Turn screen on
4. Possible issue: If the picture looks wrong, then, you need to update the screen scaler SW with the correct .bin file:
a. Get the Scalar SW downloaded in Preparation Step 1 and copy it to a USB Drive (https://westanonline.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/Support/Eu5CmksHWlVcm38ESftrseoBd2vC03BBYwOVbZI7fw19qw?e=oEkttn)
b. The screen’s mainboard may have been pre-programmed with different model.
Check what model the monitor think it is now by going to:
Home->Configuration 2-> Monitor information->Model Name=____________
c. The screen’s scalar update procedure will look for the filename that match its current model.
Rename the file copied in step a to the model the screen think it is.
Eg. If the screen is a 55BDL5055P but it think it is 42BDL5055P, then rename PHL_55BDL5055P.bin to PHL_42BDL5055P.bin (after the scaler update, the screen will now think it is 55BDL5055P).
d. Update Scalar FW Update
Home->Advanced option->Scalar FW Update
e. Update with begin, with screen showing “USB update state: Erase flash ….”
f. When the operation is concluded repower the monitor from the main power (or from the main AC switch on the back of the monitor)
g. Set the burn-in off and perform a factory reset in the factory menu:
Press in a sequence on the remote control below buttons:
i. Home 1999 back
ii. Set “burn-in”=off
iii. Select factory reset
iv. When finished, power off (from the main not from the remote)
PLEASE NOTE THAT PERFORMING AN AC REBOOT (PHISYCALLY REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE DISPLAY) IS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE UPGRADE PROCEDURE. NOT COMPLETING THE PROCEDURE MAY CAUSE UNFORSEEN PROBLEMS.
Check if the pictures looks correct now.
