Overview
Philips regularly release new software update to fix issues and sometimes to add feature.
Ensuring your TV is running the latest software is highly recommended as it minimises it from encountering known issues.
File location
(check the version in the online folder directory)
Android P release
When the xHFL5014/6014 TV is upgraded to Android P, it is required to also upgrade CMND to the latest version (7.1.1 or higher) in order to be able to do IP upgrades or edit TVSettings. Latest CMND version can be found on
www.cmnd.io
xxHFL5114 and xxHFL6114 is delivered with Android P SW pre-installed.
Prepare the USB Drive:
Some USB Drive somehow are not detected by the TV for this SW update. Please try a number of different USB Drive brand/model if you have issue
1. Format the USB Drive with the following settings:
File system=FAT32
Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte
2. Select the files as shown in the picture below and hit the download button circled in red.
3. Copy those files from your downloads folder into the root directory of the USB Drive.
UPGRADE A TV SET OUT OF BOX
0. If you have a clone file from the same model TV, copy that clone file into the USB Drive as well (so it got picked up by the TV initialisation process)
1. Take the set out of the box and leave it unplugged.
2. Plug in the USB key and connect the TV to the mains. (preferably USB1 port)
3. Wait until the upgrade starts.
4. When the upgrade is finished remove the USB key and restart the TV.
5. Check the software version on the second page of the CSM menu (123654)
UPGRADE AN ALREADY INSTALLED TV SET
1. Switch ON the TV and wait until the OSD message had disappear from the screen.
2. Plug in the USB key and connect the TV to the mains. (preferrably USB1 port - located at the rear)
3. The update wizard will automatically appear with the question if you want to upgrade.
Select the [Update] button and press “OK” to continue.
4. On the next page select [Start] and press the “OK” button to start the software update.
5. Wait until the process finishes, do not unplug the power cord.
After around 2min the update will be complete and “Restart” button will appear on the screen.
6. Remove the USB flash drive and press “OK” to restart the TV set and finish the update procedure.
7. After restart the TV will display the switch ON channel.
8. Check the software version on the second page of the CSM menu (123654)
Software version will have the following format:
TPM181xHE_R105.00x.yyy.zzz
x.yyy.zzz is the version number
