Philips BDL Remote Control Not Working

Philips BDL Remote Control Not Working

Philips Signage Remote control not working:
[1] Are you using the correct remote control (RC)?
Part number: 398GRABDDNEPHT, see picture below:

See important note at the end of this document
[2] The green led must blink when you press the OK button on the RC, see picture below:

If the red led is blinking keep pressing for 4 secs on the “normal” button ( just below the green led).
The green led will blink twice.
[4] Check if the RC is working, open the camera of your mobile and point the RC to the camera, keep
pressing the “OK” button, you should see the IR led blinking in the mobile camera, see picture
below.
Note: check with a working RC if you can see the IR led on your mobile, on some mobiles you must
change the camera to the front ( like you take a selfie).

[5] the RC can be locked via the menu, to unlock there are 2 possibilities, depends the model:
- keep pressing the info button for 10 secs
- press in sequence this buttons: home 1998
Press now the “home” button > the menu should appear on the screen.
Note: the home button is the house button.

[6] Unlocking the RC can also be done via the keyboard buttons at the back of the monitor, see pict
below.

Press the menu button on the back of the monitor ( if it is accessible), menu should appear on the
screen. If the menu doesn’t appear on the screen this means the local keyboard is locked and can be
unlocked via the remote control, see pnt 5 or the monitor is defect.
Find the “IR control” or “RC lock” (depends the model name) parameter in the menu, check if it is
disabled.

[7] connect an IR extender to the monitor, this will overrule the internal IR receiver in the monitor.
Check if the RC is working.

Note: not every IR extender will work on the Philips signage monitor, use the Philips extender.
Part number: 317GAIRR004HTR

[8] Use another remote control, any other TV philips RC will work as well.

Note: older models do have another remote control and they are not compatible.
