Download the Latest firmware :
Copy the update.zip to your usb stick on the root (Do not unzip the file!! )
Insert usb disk to the monitor (this is the android board USB port), different than the scaler USB port.
Inserting the USB onto the Screen
press “home+1+8+8+8” to enter android mode, then choose “settings”
choose “Signage Display”->”System updates”->”Local update”
The system will automatically detect the update.zip file from USB stick, then choose OK, it will upgrade Android FW
itself.
Check if the firmware has been upgraded: press on the RC: Info 77
Philips recommend to do a factory reset after a sw update is performed
HOWEVER.. doing so will wipe out all the apps installed and all the settings in the android SW
most of the time, not doing Factory Reset is not causing issue as well..
If you do have apps running in android, it's best to test the screen's behaviour without doing the factory reset
Factory reset
Signage display > system tools > factory reset
AC repower the monitor when finished.
