Overview

xxHFL5009 xxHFL5010 xxHFL7009 TV Unresponsive to Remote issue is usually caused by an Outdated Software version running on the TV.


TV software must be updated to the latest software version during installation, to avoid issues caused by outdated Software from occurring.

If the TV is already unresponsive the, the TV need to be forced updated using a platform specific upgrade_loader.pkg. 

The following steps shows how to revive the TV and also what to do afterwards.


Download upgrade_loader.pkg file

Warning

upgrade_loader.pkg is platform specific. This one only apply for xxHFL4010-5009-5010-7009 models.
Applying it onto other platform will cause irreversible damage

Prepare the USB Drive:


1. Format the USB Drive with the following settings:
  File system=FAT32
  Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte
2. Copy the files (including upgrade_loader.pkg) into the root directory of the USB Drive

Update the Unresponsive TV using upgrade_loader.pkg


1. Turn the TV On
2. Plug in the USB key (preferrably USB1 port)
3. AC TV off (cut the power from TV)
4. AC TV On (turn power back on to the TV)
5. Software update should begin (Front LED will eventually start to flash)
6. When complete, remove the USB
7. Check the software version on the second page of the CSM menu (123654)
 Software version will have the following format:
 TPN14xHE_004.002.y.zzz
 004.002.y.zzz is the version number


TV Re-install 

When the TV can be operated from the remote again, it require a re-installation. Please read the reason below.


TV with the latest software version is not fully compatible with TV which previously has been configured on software version 004.002.036.128.
That's why the TV need to be re-installed and either re-configured from scratch or have a master clone file (created from a TV whose software version is higher than 004.002.036.128) applied to it.


Option A - Re-install the TV with an up-to-date Master clone file

0. Insert the USB Drive with the Master Clone file
1. Go to professional Mode, 3,1,9,7,5,3,MUTE
2. Select: TV Settings
3. Select: "General Settings"
4. Select: "Reinstall TV"
5. During Instant Initial Cloning, TV will automatically apply the clone file into the TV

Option B - Re-install the TV and reconfigure



1. Go to professional Mode, 3,1,9,7,5,3,MUTE
2. Select: TV Settings
3. Select: "General Settings"
4. Select: "Reinstall TV"
5. Re-Configure and Re-Tune TV
