xxHFL3011 NVM Reset Procedure Latest


Use this only with the approval of Westan Technical support team

NVM (Non Volatile Memory) Reset Procedure overwrite the NVM memory area with the NVM image that is usually loaded during manufacturing process of the TV.

The NVM image used is dictated by the LCD component used in the TV. (note: 2 TVs of the same model may use different LCD component, and thus require different NVM file)

A.   Choosing the correct NVM file 


NVM file depends on the model of the panel component of the TV.
The TV's Panel ID can be found on the label on the back of the TV (see picture below)


You'll be able to find the model/version based on the table below.


You can download the correct NVM file from the link below.

B.   Prepare USB Drive

1. Prepare a USB Drive by formatting it with the following characteristics:
   File system=FAT32Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte
2. Rename the chosen NVM File to 568_NVM.DATA
3, Create a directory called "NVMSeed" (case sensitive) in the root directory of the USB Drive.
4. Put the 568_NVM.DATA in the "NVMSeed" directory

C.   Performing NVM Reset. 


1. Switch On TV
2. Power off TV from the Main
3. Insert the USB Drive into the USB Slot at the bottom rear of the TV. (the USB 2.0-grey color not USB 3.0-blue color slot)
4. Power on TV from the Main
    <<if the NVM is newer as the one in TV it will program it, if not, nothing will change.>>
5. NVM reset will happen automatically.
6. If an NVM Warning message appears on the screen, you may have a USB compatibility issue.
You can force the NVM to reload by:
    Connecting the USB
    Press Home1357 to update NVM
    TV will reboot automatically and program the NVM
7.  After the reboot the USB stick must be removed.

D.   Assigning correct Model and SN of the TV. 


Performing NVM reset may wipe out the TV model and SN. If it does, it need to be re-assign
1. Turn professional model off by pressing 3,1,9,7,5,3,mute. Set [Advanced Settings-> Professional Mode = Off]
2. Go to the SAM menu. (can only be done if Professional Menu = off) To enter the menu the following key sequence must be entered: 0 6 2 5 9 6 "info/OK".
3. Once the menu appears go to “NVM Editor/Service Data/Production Number” and Press OK to enter editor.
4. In the editor press the “OK” key to display the keyboard.
5. Press the yellow button to change the keyboard to digits.
6. Enter the serial number to be found on the white sticker on the back of the TV
7.  Press “Done” and exit the menu.
8. To verify the code enter the CSM menu. To enter the menu the following key sequence must be entered: 1 2 3 6 5 4 3
9. On the first page you should see the same production code. If not go back to step 1 else exit the menu.
10. Turn professional model on by pressing 3,1,9,7,5,3,mute. Set [Advanced Settings->Professional Mode = On]
