Apps that will be de-activated for Android N (7) firmware in the MediaSuite (xxHFL501X) displays
Some apps will no be available on Philips MediaSuite devices running old Android N (7) firmware as of 11 January 2021.
Due to a changein the Google Play Store app distribution method, Incompatible apps will be deactivated on MediaSuite devices running the older AndroidN (7) firmware. These apps include Disney+, BT Sport and 7Plus. The full list of apps is attached.
To continue using these apps, please upgrade your MediaSuite devices to Android P (9) firmware. The latest firmware is TPM181HE_R.105.000.239.002,available for download on the Philips support pages.
For quick andeasy update of a large number of displays, we recommend using CMND.
What happens if I don't upgrade my MediaSuite device by 11 January 2021?
Please note that more more apps will be disabled in the future. Philips recommends installation to the latest Android P firmware as soon as possible.The affected apps will be automatically uninstalled on Android N devices but will still remain visible in your AppProfile. When you upgrade your devices to Android P, the apps will be automatically be reinstalled on those displays.
All B-Line devices already ship with the latest Android P firmware installed. No change is required for these products. Any devices already using Android P will not be affected.
Please note that more more apps will be disabled in the future. Philips recommends installation to the latest Android P firmware as soon as possible.
