Phoenix 1.0 - Video Wall Manual Color Calibration

Phoenix 1.0 - Video Wall Manual Color Calibration

1) Turn The Screen On For 30 Minutes with 1080p/60Hz white background.

We need to leave the screen running for sometimes to let the brightness and colors stabilize

The white background need to be fed using the same interface as the one that will be used to feed the real content.

ie. If the real content is fed via DVI daisy chain, then the white background need to be connected through this DVI daisy chain as well
if the real content is to fed via HDMI splitter and through individual HDMI, the  and then through individual HDMI connection to each

2) Reset The Picture On All Screens and choose Vivid Picture Style

Do a picture reset on all the monitors (green marker below)

Then choose picture style setting on all the monitors (red marker below)

Choose Vivid as the picture style

3) Adjust The Backlight Brightness

If the range of brightness is very large between the dimmest screen and the brightest screen:
- adjust the dimmest screen to its maximum brightness (Picture->Backlight) and adjust the other screen to that screen's brightness

Otherwise, adjust the screens to roughly the same brightness

Tips
Use the center area of the screen as the reference point when comparing the white color brightness against other screen.

4) Perform Manual Color Calibration

a)    Select “Advanced” (see red marker below):

b)    Select “Tint -> Custom ” (see red marker below)

c) Adjust R,G,B gain (see red marker below) to adjust screen color

Some screens will have the same color, use them as the reference color whenever possible.
Don’t change the Red, Green and Blue offset ( this is for the black level)
All R / G / B Gain values must be equal or smaller than 128
Gain values of at least one need to be set to 128;
See Tips below on how to adjust color

Color Adjustment Tip Notes

Color is measured in x and y coordinates as in below picture.
Info:
Red gain will change the x value
Green gain will change the y value
Blue gain will change the x and y value

First try to change the Red and Green value between 115 and 128 until you become an acceptable white color compared to your reference monitor(s).
Fine tune with the Blue gain, be careful not too much because this will change x and y.
Change again Red and Green until you have an acceptable white color.
