Warning
upgrade_loader.pkg (forced) software update method must be used as a last resort software update method only.
autorun.upg (normal) software update is the preferred software update method.

Overview

Philips regularly release new software update to fix issues and sometimes to add feature.

Ensuring your TV is running the latest software is highly recommended as it minimises it from encountering known issues.

File location

(check the version in the SharePoint folder)

Prepare the USB Drive:


Some USB Drive somehow are not detected by the TV for this SW update. Please try a number of different USB Drive brand/model if you have issue

1. Format the USB Drive with the following settings:
  File system=FAT32
  Allocation unit size = 64 kilobyte
2. Copy the files (including upgrade_loader.pkg) into the root directory of the USB Drive

Force upgrade procedure

1. Turn the TV On
2. Plug in the USB key in a USB2.0 port (Behind The TV, Not On The Side)
3. AC TV off (cut the power from TV)
4. AC TV On (turn power back on to the TV)
5. Software update should begin (Front LED will eventually start to flash) - you should see "Upgrade in progress message"
    - IF NOTHING HAPPEN AFTER 10 minutes, POWER OFF TV, try the other USB PORT IN THE TV then repeat step 4.
6. When complete, remove the USB
7. Check the software version on the second page of the CSM menu (123654 or mute,right,left,down,up,OK)
 Software version will have the following format:
 TPM181HE_w.xxx.yyy.zzz
 w.xxx.yyy.zzz is the version number
