BDL4650D - Scaler Firmware Update Procedure

Checking the current Scaler FW Version

Press Home 1999 back to bring up the Factory Menu
You'll see these at the top
      Model Name    __BDL____
      Serial Number  ________
      FW Version       V_.___ (This is the Scaler FW version)
      Media Board    FB__.__ (This is the Android FW version)

Press Exit to quit the Factory Menu

Downloading the Scaler FW

The scaler FW file can be downloaded from the link below
The file name notation is SS_4650D.bin where SS is the size of the screen
eg 32BDL4650D is 32_4650D, 75BDL4650D is 75_4650D
The 55" and the 86" has 2 type of .bin file.
You need to download the correct one (if known) and rename it to the naming convention above.
If you don't know, just download both and try one at a time.
Copy the bin file to the root directory of a USB stick formatted in FAT32.

Performing the Update

Press Home to bring up the OSD Menu
Navigate to Advanced Option->Scaler FW Update to update the Scaler FW

Possible Issue

If the main board has been replaced or if the screen has been "updated" using the wrong FW file size before, the screen need to be "tricked" to accept the .bin file.
For example, if in the Home1999back Factory Menu, the screen thinks that it is a 55BDL4650D, but it is actually an 86BDL4650D, then we need to copy the 86_4650D.bin file, rename it to 55_4650D.bin and perform the Update as per the above step. The screen will check the file name, find a matched pattern and apply the update, upon reboot it will recognize itself with the correct model.
