InFocus 50 Series - How to Update or Re-Image Android Firmware

Download the correct firmware update file. Incorrect file could cause damage to the panel.

Click on the 3 vertical dots at the end of the file name and then select Download. Don't click on the Download button in the menu bar.

Option 1: Update firmware over the Internet

  1. Connect the screen to the internet
  2. Navigate to Settings ⇒ System ⇒ System Update ⇒ Check Update

Option 2: Update firmware using a USB flash drive

This option will erase all settings and custom-installed apps.
  1. Format the USB flash drive (at least 2GB):
    1. Plug in the USB to the computer;
    2. Right click on the drive and select “Format” from the list;
    3. Select “FAT32” under “File System” and click on “Start”.
    4. Wait until the format is complete. 
  2. Download the correct firmware update file for your panel to your local drive.
  3. Extract the downloaded file. Copy the entire “upgrade_9950” folder to the prepared USB flash drive.
  4. Plug the prepared USB flash drive into a USB port on the front of the display.
  5. Use the remote control to enter the following keys one after another: INPUT, 1, 3, 7, 9 (press the INPUT button followed by 1379).
  6. The Debug Menu will appear on the screen. Select “Upgrade” and press OK.
  7. Select “Upgrade All” and confirm.
  8. The display will turn on/off a few times. Some of the update will take place while the screen is turned off (the power indicator light will flash). The system will reboot to the “Main Home” Screen after the firmware upgrade is complete.

Option 3: Re-Image firmware using a USB flash drive (when Debug Menu is not accessible)

This option will erase all settings and custom-installed apps.
  1. Format the USB flash drive (at least 2GB):
    1. Plug in USB to the computer.
    2. Right-click on the drive and select “Format” from the list.
    3. Select “FAT32” under “File System” and click on “Start”. 
    4. Wait until the format is complete.
  2. Download the correct firmware update file for your panel to your local drive.
  3. Extract the contents onto the USB drive. Copy the entire “upgrade_9950” folder to the prepared USB flash drive.
  4. Plug in the USB to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the side of the display below the PC slot (be sure that it’s not one of the USB 3 ports on the PC itself if there is an internal PC installed).
  5. Turn off the power rocker switch on the back of the display near the power cord.
  6. Press and hold the power button on the front of the display while turning the power rocker switch back to the on position.
  7. Continue holding the power button until the button starts blinking (usually about 15 seconds).
  8. You will see a screen indicating that it is upgrading.
