BDL4550D Installing An Apk and Set it Up As Custom App
Steps:
- Copy the .apk file to the root directory of the USB Drive
- Insert USB drive to the bottom USB port on the side I/O panel
- Enter Android Menu (Press: Home, 1, 8, 8, 8 [within 2 seconds])
- Select Apps
- Select File Manager
- Select USB drive
- Select the your app apk and press OK ⇾ select Open and press OK ⇾ Install
- If the following message pops up, select Settings.
- Set Allow from this source setting to On ⇾ press the BACK button to go back to the app installation screen.
- Set Settings->Security->Unknown Sources = Enable
- Select Install to install your app and once installed, select Done.
- Press the BACK on the RC several times if you wish to exit the Android menu completely.
Enter Android Menu (Press: Home, 1, 8, 8, 8 [within 2 seconds])
Navigate to Settings ⇾ Signage Display ⇾ Source Settings ⇾ Custom App ⇾ Select App ⇾ press OK
Select your app from the popup list of apps, the select Save.
Press the Back button on the RC several times if you wish to exit the Android menu completely.
Set Date & Time
- Press the Home button to access the screen menu
- Navigate to Advanced option ⇾ Date and time, press OK
- Ensure Auto Sync setting is ticket.
- Select the correct time zone.
Set the screen to automatically turn on after an unplanned power outage:
Press the Home button to access the screen menu
- Configuration 1 ⇾ Switch on state = Force On
- Configuration 1 ⇾ Boot on source = Action, press OK ⇒ Input = Custom
- Advanced option ⇾ Power Save = Mode 1
- Advanced option ⇾ Off Timer = Off
Option 1 - Running The App by Power OFF/ON screen to autoload app
Once all the steps above have been action-ed, power off/on the screen with the remote control to complete the installation and auto-load the app.
Option 2 - Running The App Using The Source Button
Press the Source button
Navigate to Custom ⇾ press OK
The app chosen as the custom app should start, if it doesn't, review the steps above
[OPTIONAL] Schedule screen to turn on and off automatically
Home ⇾ Advanced Option ⇾ Schedule ⇾ Action
You can configure up to seven schedules.
To enable the configured schedule, you must TICK the box for Enable setting.
To run the app at the scheduled time, Input must be set to Custom.
"Every Week" must be ticked, otherwise the schedule will only run once (1 week)
(Ensure the screen’s date and time settings are correct as per instructions above)
